Sarah Gleeson

Centre Manager & Psychotherapist

Pre-accredited member of IACP – M15833

Sarah is a fully qualified psychotherapist, having completed a BSc (Hons) in Psychotherapy and Counselling at PCI College, awarded by Middlesex University. Alongside her clinical work, Sarah is also the Centre Manager at Inner Therapy in Naas and Portlaoise, a role she values deeply as it allows her to support people at the very beginning of their therapeutic journey and help guide them towards the right support for their needs.

She also brings 20 years’ experience working within healthcare, with specialist experience in maternity, perinatal loss and adult palliative care. This has contributed to her understanding of the complexity of the whole person, including the close relationship between physical and psychological wellbeing.

Sarah’s therapeutic work is shaped by existential psychotherapy, an orientation that has developed from her experience supporting people through significant life events, uncertainty and change. Over time, this has deepened her interest in questions of meaning, purpose, identity and choice, and continues to inform the way she works with clients. Her practice is also integrative, drawing on person-centred therapy, psychodynamic principles, third-wave CBT and neurosomatic concepts in response to the individual needs of each client.

Her work centres on helping people develop a deeper understanding of their experiences, including the conscious and less conscious patterns that may influence how they think, feel and respond. From this greater awareness, she supports individuals in relating to themselves and their circumstances with greater compassion and flexibility, while exploring ways of living that feel meaningful and aligned with what matters to them.

Her areas of interest include, but are not limited to, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship difficulties and recurring relational patterns, life change and transition, living with chronic or life-limiting illness, and the many ways in which loss can present in a person’s life.
