Anne Marie Lyons

Psychotherapist, Couples & Relationship Therapist & Clinical Supervisor

I am an experienced psychotherapist, couples and relationship therapist, clinical supervisor and guidance counsellor, working with individuals and couples who may be experiencing challenges in their personal lives, relationships or emotional wellbeing.

My approach is person-centred, collaborative and responsive to the individual needs of each client. I work from a pluralistic perspective, recognising that there is no single approach that works for everyone. Together, we explore the challenges clients are experiencing and identify ways of working that best support meaningful and positive change. I provide a therapy menu that includes REBT, ACT, person centred, psychodynamic and brief solution focused.

I have experience supporting individuals presenting with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, bpd, addiction, family and relationship issues and other complex emotional and psychological difficulties. My work provides a supportive and confidential space where clients can explore their experiences, develop greater self-understanding and find ways of moving forward.

Alongside individual psychotherapy, I have particular experience in relationship and couples therapy. I work with couples and individuals experiencing a range of relationship challenges, supporting them to better understand patterns within their relationships, improve communication and explore the issues that may be affecting connection, trust and emotional wellbeing.

My professional practice is also informed by my academic and ongoing work in Neurodiversity. I completed a Masters in Diversity and Inclusion, with a particular focus on disability, inclusion and ableism. This learning continues to deepen my understanding of how diversity, identity, access and systemic experiences can shape people’s lives and experiences of support.

Alongside my therapeutic work, I have extensive experience in education in guidance and counselling and career coaching. I have worked across further and higher education and currently work with adolescents and adults in a variety of educational and therapeutic settings.

I aim to provide a warm, respectful and professional space where clients feel heard, supported and able to work through the challenges they are facing at a pace that feels appropriate to them.
